Summer Book Challenge!

I've said it before…I love Megan's book challenges!  So what if I never finish them.  I love participating and making my list.  This list is not set in stone, but I'm going to give it a shot!  Now that I'm over my book slump.  If you haven't participated, you totally should.

5 points: Freebie! Read any book that is at least 200 pages long.

10 points: Read a book that was written before you were born.

10 points: Finish reading a book you couldn't finish the first time around.

10 points: Read a book from the children’s section of the library or bookstore.

15 points: Read a book that is on The New York Times' Best Sellers List when you begin reading it.

15 points: Read a historical fiction book that does not take place in Europe.

15 points: Read a book another blogger has already read for the challenge.
— TBD :)  But I've really been wanting to read Cinder…so you know…if someone could work that into their challenge…that'd be great.

20 points: Read a book with “son(s),” “daughter(s)” or “child(ren)” in the title.

20 points: Read a book that was/will be adapted to film in 2014.

25 points: Read a book written by a blogger.

— TBD

25 points: Read a biography, autobiography or memoir.

— TBD

30 points: Read a pair of books with antonyms in the titles.

- TBD

So, what do you think?  Have you read any of these?  Which ones would you recommend I tackle first?

I love her challenges too! I have Cinder on my bookshelf waiting to be read...it's actually one of the books I started to pick up and never really had the time to commit to reading. I'll put that at the top of my reading list for you.

Thanks for the kind words! So glad you're playing along again. (And I'm glad Ech is willing to help you out haha.) I have really been wanting to read The Sun Also Rises since I read The Paris Wife earlier this month - maybe I'll use that for my before-I-was-born category, too! Good luck. :)

Dreams of Gods and Monsters AND Game of Thrones in the same summer?! You're all about the huge books ha :)

If I could recommend a biography for you that I loved: OPEN by Andre Agassi. I'm not a tennis person, and it changed my entire perspective on biographies. He's a fascinating human. Also, if you haven't read "Just Kids" by Patti Smith, that's a music one that I think you might really love. ALSO, speaking of music, you should read "Miss O'Dell" by Chris O'Dell. That totally made me fall in love with a whole new era of music. :)

Very cool..I would read Game of Thrones first, and get it out of the way. It's pretty lengthy and tedious.

I'm excited to do one of her challenges for the first time. Nice list! I love that you put up the covers of the books.
Are you a fan of classics? I'm interested in what caused you to choose the Hemingway. I may just be too unsophisticated to appreciate it, but my mom and I have a standing joke about how that book is written :-)

I've got the second GoT book as my book in the "didn't finish the first time" category. They're so interesting, but there's SO MUCH information.

I think the category for books that people didn't finish is the most interesting! Game of Thrones eh? Good luck with it this time around. And best of luck with the challenge.
