Tunesday v.3 AND Top Ten Tuesday

I'm going to attempt combining posts today.  Tuesday is a busy blog day for me.  I first want to share a spring playlist for Tunesday and then I will share my Top Ten books for the link-up at The Broke and the Bookish.

The Mowgli's // San Francisco
A Silent Film // Harbour Lights
Cayucas // High School Lover
Haim // Forever
Lord Huron // Time to Run
American Authors // Best Day of My Life
Fitz and the Tantrums // Out of My League
Phoenix // Entertainment
Biffy Clyro // Black Chandelier

On Friday, I shared 5 songs that changed my life on Melissa's blog.  You can see the list here.  They're really not surprising, if you know me.

Today's TTT topic is Books I have bought but not read yet.  Most of the books sitting on my un-read shelf are books I somehow acquired.  I either found them at a thrift store or someone handed them down to me.  Normally, if I buy a book, I read it right away.  These are the books collecting dust on my book shelf.

Any of these worth picking up right away?

What books have you bought and not read yet?

I've only read A Great and Terrible Beauty and I Am Number Four, both of which I liked :) I definitely want to read Sarah's Key soon! I was a little hesitant at first, but I heard it's really good!

I enjoyed Juliet, Naked. I hope you read it soon. I want to read A Great and Terrible Beauty as well.

I read The Unbearable Lightness of Being but I'm pretty sure most of it flew over my head. I liked it...I think?

Pillars of the Earth!! I've read it twice, which is amazing for such a hefty book. It's wonderful.

I also read Sarah's Key. That was good too!

Oh, you need to read Pillars of the Earth! It is one of my favorite books. I also have Freedom on my shelf, but haven't been inspired to read it yet.

I need to read A Great and Terrible Beauty. It sounds so good, and I've heard only great things about it. Great list!

Room is so good! So so so good. I needed a lot of processing time after that one, though-- it's draining. Good list! I just bought A Great and Terrible Beauty and I'm looking forward to reading it!

I've read I Am Number Four and enjoyed it. I am writing these titles down so I can expand my reading outside my usual fare; your recommendations are always great!

If it helps at all I really wish I hadn't wasted my time reading Room, buttt I think I'm alone on that one.

I am Number Four is a freaking brilliant novel and the series just gets better and better!

I read 'The Unbearable Lightness of Being' when I was about 17 and I seem to remember liking it but don't really remember it at all! I was pretty apathetic to 'Juliet Naked' - it was fine, just a bit meh. I can recommend 'The Pillars of the Earth' though - it's long and starts off quite slowly (I seem to remember lots of descriptions of walking through forests!) but definitely picks up. It's a must read if you like historical fiction.

I haven't read any of those books so I'm no help there :-)

Love your music selections. A few of those are on my playlist too.

I LOVE that you included Fitz and the Tantrums! Some guy at the music store convinced me to buy their Pickin' Up The Pieces album last year and I love it (Tighter is my favorite!). As for your other choices, I have heard a few of them and will be definitely checking out the ones I haven't :)

I liked Juliet, Naked a lot -- my second favorite Hornby book after High Fidelity.

That's an awesome picture of you :)

Room was an amazing book. I really didn't like Great & Terrible Beauty, and in fact I tried reading more Libba Bray after that and didn't like it either. Sarah's Key is one of my all time faves (please read that ASAP!) and Art of Racing in the Rain is on my to-read shelf too... One of my best friend RAVED about that book for ages after reading it!

PS: I loooooved Shatter Me!!
