the.book.chat {Photo Challenge}

Last week, I asked you all to take us into your homes and show us all your reading experience.  It's all about the visual this week.  Your photos don't have to be fancy and your house doesn't have to be clean.

So here's a peak into my space.
Enjoy!

I do the majority of my reading in bed. Mainly at night. But sometimes I can steal away an hour or so to read in the daytime.  I don't normally choose the bed to read in then, but sometimes it's the only quiet place available.  Reading sessions that begin this way, turn quickly into naps.  The mom who can nap, will.

This is my nightstand. Minus the diapers, hair ties, and yesterdays glass of water.

The current read, as well as the trusty ol' Kindle & bookmark collection are stored here.

My collection.  It's not much. I lose bookmarks like it's no ones business.

Speaking of bookmarks, Jonathan & I made some dinosaur bookmarks for his 5th birthday party.  You can find that "how-to" here.

If I have a daylight hour to kill and my mommy/blogging/cleaning duties are fulfilled, (and it's not a nap I'm looking for) I will curl up in my reading chair and waste away in the land of fiction.
It's my favorite spot in the house.

That chair used to look like this.

There is nothing better than curling up near that sunny window with a good book and a hot cup of coffee.
Heaven.

And now...a peak at my bookshelves.
Yes, I alphabetize.

The classics.

Just a few on my YA shelf.

My bookshelves are a bit pathetic considering what a bibliophile I am.  I literally saved them from their landfill doom a few years back in Germany.  I desperately need to get some nicer ones, or give these ones a facelift.  It's embarassing.

Have you all seen my floating bookshelf tutorial?

Just a few of my favorites

And I really couldn't do a photo post without sharing some cuteness!

Sharing the love of books with my two favorite people.

Can't wait to see your photos!

As for next week...in honor of Holocaust Remembrance day, the book chat for April 19th will be to share your favorite Historical book, fiction or non-fiction.

My reading time involves fending off a 2 year old! He gets very jealous, and will pull the book out of my hands: "No! Put that DOWN!" Maybe one day, I'll read again?

We are enjoying them! We're only on the second one so far, but he's really loving them & I'm pretty into them too.

Amen! My son wants my full-undivided attention too. I'm usually stealing away minutes while he's taking a bath or eating lunch. I'll take what I can get! lol

Thanks :) I'm very glad I bought it. I was hesitant at first. It was a fun project.

Love your pictures! You've got some great books that I've been meaning to pick up. Once I'm able to get more shelf space (when I move out? When I move to the basement?) I want to have a serious collection of classics going on. I'm embarrassed to call myself a book-nerd and not have read some of the greatest ones. The ones I DID read didn't get the appreciation they deserved! I totally wish I'd had more time to participate this week, DARN. lol. I may join in late tomorrow or something, we'll see. I'm very excited for next week though, although I think I've already shared some of my favorite historical fic, I may just dig through my archives and see what I wrote to re-share! :)

Love this post! Thanks for giving us a glimpse into your reading life. :) I love all the stacks of books you have around your house.

Also, sorry I didn't get the chance to link up yesterday. Work was crazy and then I got super-distracted with planning my book challenge (which I'm so excited about!). I didn't even get to read your post until just now. But, I did want to contribute, so I linked to my Instagram instead! My friend made this bookmark for my birthday (off Pinterest, of course). It's a popsicle stick wrapped in ribbon, and then an earring dangles from the end to keep my place. It's so much fun!

Happy Friday!!
